At the threshold of celebrations of the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Head of state of the country gave revealing interview as a response to the questions of the Editor-in-Chief of the «Yangi Uzbekiston» Newspaper. Academicians and ordinary people alike gained deeper insight into development of the country and forming of the nation over the last thirty years and recount of the achievements of the last five years under the leadership of the President of Uzbekistan.
Accelerated development of the country is being carried out using new ideology that has already taken its due place in the hearts of every citizen of Uzbekistan. Today, everyone in the country knows very well that New Uzbekistan is being built on the principles of rule of law, humanitarian values, and respect for tradition and culture of the country employing five main initiatives launched by Mr. Mirziyoev.
Five initiatives Strategy has given endless fruits already and is on the way to create a better life for everyone in the country. However, what this interview revealed was deep rooted nature of reforms and the new concept of New Uzbekistan in our history. Indeed, striving for the new heights is nothing new for the hard-working people of Uzbekistan. Abu-Rayhon Beruni was the first scholar to claim the existence of a landmass beyond Pacific Ocean before anyone comprehended it, Mirzo-Ulug’bek was the first person to create an extensive map of stars as a result of his observations. Jadid schools, theatres, and print media led the nation of Uzbekistan towards enlightening even though the nation had the shackless of soviet rule on their hands, as correctly pointed out by the Head of State.
Today’s New Uzbekistan is a new chapter in the ascent of this nation that has been watered with wisdom of Imom Al-Bukhariy, Akhmad Al-Farg’oniy, Abu Ali ibn Sino and other ancestors.
Indeed, this nation does not forget its history and will always respect the elderly. As duly noted by President of Uzbekistan, even today’s peaceful life is the result of sacrifices made by our ancestors during the Second World War, in the process of gaining independence, in the process of protecting our borders from outside enemies. Therefore, elderly people will always be held at the highest esteem in this country. Along with elderly, the Head of state highlighted the importance of women and young citizens of Uzbekistan to enjoy modern life and to build a better future.
Work that is being done nationally and in international stage is praiseworthy. The President has taken the issues related to creating opportunities for the youth to international stage by highlighting these issues and offering solutions with specific steps in his address to UN General Assembly.
During the last five years, Uzbekistan has become one of the key actors in international politics with the initiative of current government led by Mr. Mirziyoev. Indeed, establishment of friendly relationships with neighboring countries has served to warm the atmosphere in Central Asia, to create conditions for active economic and cultural exchange among Central Asian countries and has forced other countries from around the world to look up and take note of a new market being formed in this region.
