The President of Uzbekistan emphasizes close cooperation with Saudi Arabia for the comfort of pilgrims

On February 19, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, received a delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia led by the Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah.

The distinguished guest conveyed sincere greetings and warm wishes from King Salman Al Saud and Crown Prince, Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed Al Saud, to the President of Uzbekistan. As a special gift from the King, the Minister presented a piece of the sacred Kiswah of the Kaaba to the multiethnic people of Uzbekistan.

In response, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed deep appreciation to the leadership of Saudi Arabia for their invaluable gift and the opportunities and favorable conditions provided for Uzbekistan pilgrims in the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah. Last year alone, more than 800,000 Uzbekistan citizens performed Umrah, while 15,000 pilgrims completed Hajj. 

During the discussion, special attention was given to further improving the conditions and quality of services for Uzbekistan pilgrims, ensuring their safety and comfort during their stay in Saudi Arabia.
