On January 16, 2025, the Director of the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan, academician Akmal Saidov, held a meeting with undergraduate students, master’s students, and doctoral candidates of the Academy.
The event, held under the “Academics and Youth” banner, focused on discussions about the topics of “New Uzbekistan and Human Rights” and “Contemporary Trends in International Law.” The meeting aimed to highlight the importance of the ongoing reforms in the field of human rights in the country and the role of young people in this area.
During the meeting, Academician Saidov emphasized that the development strategy of New Uzbekistan gives priority to human rights, freedoms, and democracy. He provided information about Uzbekistan's efforts to improve its international image and achieve higher standards in the field of human rights. Over a hundred students, master’s students, and researchers actively participated in the event.
During the discussion, views were exchanged on the ongoing processes of globalization in the world, international human rights principles, and the importance of intergovernmental cooperation. The academician paid particular attention to the modern changes in the international legal system and their role in ensuring human rights. The event became an important step in enhancing knowledge and skills for the youth, deepening scientific and theoretical understanding in the field of human rights, and directing them toward practical application. Moreover, students were given interesting insights into the importance of studying law, as well as the interconnection between literature and law.
The meeting was a significant initiative aimed at enhancing the potential of young people in the field of human rights and international law, and at further activating their participation in society and state affairs.
At the end of the event, Academician A.K. Saidov familiarized himself with the activities of the Academy of Law Enforcement of the Republic of Uzbekistan and highly appreciated the conditions created for scientific research and the educational process.
