TASHKENT, August 13. /“Dunyo” IA/. Today, the World Conference on Youth Rights in Tashkent continues, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.
On the second day of the event, it is planned to discuss the existing international legal instruments and mechanisms in youth rights, as well as the main provisions of the draft International Convention on the Rights of Youth.
The relevance of the topic is dictated by the absence of an international document that would enshrine the rights of youth. In addition, taking into account the existence of several problems faced mainly by young people, it becomes necessary to pay special attention to this age group. Among such problems are susceptibility to extremist beliefs, discrimination on various grounds, unemployment, limited access to active participation in the country’s political life, and others.
The forum is held in a hybrid format and brings together over 500 representatives from more than 30 countries and international organizations.
