The UN Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms while countering terrorism Fionnuala Ni Aolain visited the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

At the meeting, Prosecutor General Nigmatilla Yuldashev talked with Ms. Aolain about the functions and tasks of the Prosecutor's Office.

The UN Special Rapporteur was informed about the implemented work in the protection of citizens' rights and freedoms, as well as transformations in the judicial-legal system. She also voiced positive opinions about the reforms implemented in Uzbekistan in the judicial-legal system and ensuring the protection of citizens' rights and freedoms.

The systematic and consistent measures implemented in the sphere at the initiative of the Head of the state were highly appreciated.

The meeting was held in the spirit of constructive bilateral dialogue and mutual understanding.
