A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission under the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the National Centre of the Republic of Uzbekistan for human rights

Within the framework of the international seminar “The role of national human rights institutions in the protection and promotion of human rights in OIC countries” held in Jeddah on May 24, 2022, a ceremony of signing the Memorandum of cooperation between the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission under the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the National Centre of the Republic of Uzbekistan for human rights.

This memorandum was signed by Haci Ali Acikgul, Chairperson of the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission and Mirzatillo Tillabaev, First deputy director of the National Centre of the Republic of Uzbekistan for human rights.

Within the framework of this memorandum, the parties agreed to hold consultations on a regular basis to discuss issues that could lead to mutual cooperation, based on common interests, as well as to organize joint activities, programs and projects in the field of human rights protection on a regular basis.

Also, Chairperson of the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission Haci Ali Acikgul noted that this memorandum will serve for many years in the field of protection of human rights, and as the best mechanism for mutual cooperation as well as an example to the national human rights institutions in OIC countries.

Within the framework of the event, the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of cooperation between the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission under the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the commission on human rights of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was held.
