The Global Forum "Education in the field of Human Rights" has started its work in Samarkand

TASHKENT, December 5. /“Dunyo” IA/. Today, the Third Global Forum "Education in the field of Human Rights" has started its work in Samarkand, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to the press service of the National Human Rights Center of Uzbekistan, the Global Forum, based on the initiative put forward by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan at the 76th session of the UN General Assembly and the 46th session of the Human Rights Council, the problems of developing education in the field of human rights will be discussed. In this regard, A. Saidov proposed holding the Global Forum under the motto "Human rights education: from declaration to practice".

At the opening ceremony, Volker Türk, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, delivered a video message; Permanent Coordinator of the UN in Uzbekistan, etc. Greetings from Munir Mamedzadeh; Video message of the Chairman of the UN Human Rights Council, Ambassador Federico Villegas; Greetings from Matteo Mecacci, Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, Christos Ghiakumopoulos, Director General of the Human Rights and Rule of Law Directorate of the Council of Europe, was heard. The speech of the Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee - Executive Secretary Sergey Lebedev was read by the Deputy Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee - Executive Secretary Beketzhan Jumakhanov.

More than 100 representatives of international, regional and foreign organizations are participating in the global forum offline and online. In particular, 10 international and 6 regional organizations, leading foreign human rights experts and professors from 30 countries are participating.

There are also more than 2,000 representatives of 150 national organizations among the participants of the forum. They mainly consist of activists from 20 ministries and agencies, 50 higher educational institutions and scientific organizations from all regions of our country, more than 60 civil society institutions, including youth organizations.

The work of the Global Forum is covered by national mass media and foreign correspondents accredited in our country. The details of the international conference are broadcast live on the Internet, social networks, including the YouTube channel.
